Request for Proposals Now Open for Second Round of Rapid Resource Investments

Spartanburg Academic Movement (SAM) is excited to announce the second round of the Southside Promise Rapid Resource Investments - an opportunity to invest in local nonprofit organizations serving the Southside community and driving meaningful, measurable change.

Originally launched as part of our Southside Promise Blueprint Plan to expand access to high quality student and family supports, this funding is designed to support nonprofit organizations that are deeply rooted in the Southside community and committed to delivering high-impact services that improve lives.

Southside Promise Rapid Resource Investments represent more than financial support. It is our shared commitment to support community leaders as they create enduring positive outcomes for residents and families across the Southside community.

The Southside Promise Blueprint, supported through the U.S. Department of Education’s Promise Neighborhoods grant, provides a strategic framework to coordinate resources, strengthen systems, and expand services that accelerate educational success and family well-being in the neighborhood.

In the initial round of funding, the Promise Community Advisory Committee made investments to local organizations whose projects exemplified community leadership, and measurable impact. From youth development programs to family stabilization efforts, these grants helped expand educational opportunities, strengthen support systems, and safe, thriving neighborhoods.

Now, we are thrilled to invite qualified nonprofit organizations serving Southside residents to apply for the next round of Promise funds. We seek proposals that:

  • Deliver direct services that improve outcomes for children, youth, and families,

  • Align with long-term community priorities identified in the Southside Promise Blueprint,

  • Demonstrate a commitment to education and community strength.

Nonprofits with innovative strategies that advance educational success, family stability, health and wellness, workforce readiness, or safe neighborhoods are encouraged to apply. The deadline for proposals is 5 p.m. on March 16.

Investment proposals can be submitted here: https://form.jotform.com/260456537028156

These investments are about unlocking potential and supporting organizations that are shaping a future where every child and family in the Southside has access to opportunity, support, and success.

Together, we are building momentum for change that lasts. Stay tuned as we share updates about Promise investment recipients and the work they will undertake to strengthen the Southside community.
