Tamara Hawkins
Project Manager, Full-Service Community Schools
Tamara Hawkins serves as the Project Manager for the Full-Service Community Schools grant where she is responsible for leading the development, implementation, and management of the Spartanburg Success Pipeline initiative to increase academic outcomes, improve school climate, and increase capacity to address academic and other barriers to student learning in Spartanburg School Districts 3 and 7.
A firm believer that everyone, regardless of their social condition, should be afforded the opportunity to achieve their highest level of potential, Tamara has dedicated more than two decades of her career to serving others. She comes to SAM after spending sixteen years developing, implementing, and evaluating programs that serve historically marginalized and underserved populations with Mecklenburg County Public Health.
Tamara holds a Master of Science in Public Health from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte where she was inducted into the Delta Omega Honorary Society in Public Health. She also holds Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and International Business from Clemson University.
After being away from Spartanburg for many years, Tamara is excited about the opportunity to return home and be a part of the academic and economic growth and development taking place in Spartanburg County.
