Payton O’Shields is proud to serve her hometown as a Full Service Community Schools Site Coordinator with the Spartanburg Academic Movement. Born and raised in Spartanburg, Payton has always had a strong connection to the community and a passion for helping its students and families succeed.
After earning her degree in education, Payton began her career teaching in Spartanburg, where she had the opportunity to work closely with students from diverse backgrounds and build meaningful relationships with families. Her experience in the classroom strengthened her belief that student success extends beyond academics and is deeply connected to the support and resources available both at school and at home.
In her role as Site Coordinator, Payton is excited to bridge the gap between schools, families, and community organizations. She is dedicated to creating opportunities that support students’ academic achievement, social-emotional well-being, and overall development. By connecting families with resources and fostering strong community partnerships, she hopes to help create environments where every child feels supported and empowered to succeed.
As someone who grew up in Spartanburg and has dedicated her career to serving its students, Payton is deeply invested in the future of the community.
