Stronger Together: Expanding Access Through Summer Scholarships
Summer is more than a break from school - it’s a critical opportunity for young people to explore new interests, build confidence, and stay connected to their community. Through Summer Shakedown, SAM is working to ensure that cost is not a barrier to these experiences.
Thanks to a partnership with Spartanburg Regional Health Foundation’s Connect Spartanburg and a growing network of community partners, scholarship opportunities are now available to help middle and high school students across Spartanburg County access high-quality summer programs.
These scholarships open the door to enriching, engaging, and developmentally meaningful experiences that keep youth learning, growing, and thriving all summer long.
“Our Summer Shakedown partnership with Connect Spartanburg allows us to reach more youth with meaningful, high-quality summer experiences that spark curiosity, build confidence, and strengthen community connections,” said Savannah Ray, Director of SAM’s Center for Youth Engagement and Partnerships. “For many families, scholarships make these opportunities possible, and that access can be life-changing.”
