As a South Carolina native, Kris has called her farm in Spartanburg home for more than 12 years after growing up in Rock Hill. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Wake Forest University and a Master of Science degree from Winthrop University, both in Biology. After re-entering the workforce in 2018, she discovered a strong passion for serving others and supporting students and families in meaningful ways.

Kris has experience working with students from 3K through high school in a variety of settings, including nonprofit work supporting pregnant and parenting teen mothers and their children. Most recently, she served as Behavior Support Staff at Pacolet Elementary, where she developed a deeper commitment to addressing the academic, social, and emotional needs of students. She is looking forward to a new adventure serving families more holistically by connecting them with resources and supports that promote success in school, life, and meaningful futures.

As the parent of two daughters enrolled in District 3 schools, Kris is especially excited to support Cowpens Elementary and contribute to the impactful work of the Full-Service Community Schools program in the district she calls home. She values building trusting relationships and connecting to students and families to work collaboratively for their success.

Outside of work, Kris enjoys spending time with her active family. When she is not cheering on her daughters, Emily and Anna, at dance competitions or horse shows, she can often be found on the lake, enjoying the outdoors, tackling projects with her husband, or making lasting memories with friends, family and friends who become family.
