Beth Thompson

Chief Impact Officer

Beth serves as the Chief Impact Officer, overseeing and coordinating all aspects of SAM’s impact and evaluation strategies while overseeing the John T. Wardlaw Institute for Continuous Improvement. Her strategic vision and innovative thinking drives SAM’s mission forward, ensuring measurable and sustainable outcomes for the programs, organizations and communities SAM serves.

Previously Beth served as Executive Director of Union County First Steps and was employed with the Upstate Workforce Investment Board, giving her a true understanding of the Cradle-to-Career continuum impacting student success. Beth also has experience in working with other nonprofit organizations in Spartanburg including the Carolina Piedmont Foundation and The Arts Partnership.

Beth earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing from USC Upstate. She is also a graduate of the Nonprofit Leadership Training Certificate program from the Sisters of Charity Foundation and Columbia College.
